I have been hosting bluebirds to nest for 14 years. The first generation were very aware of me. The 2nd generation male constantly pecked at my window despite my covering up with tint on the outside and patterned paper on the inside. Third gen (this year) has been quiet no pecking. I provide bluebirds dried mealworms during nesting season and in the winter. They are year-round in georgia. I dust mealworms in powdered calcium (reptile section in pet store) gently shaken in a ziplock bag for a good coat and protected from rain. I also grow native berry bushes (fox grape, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, beautyberry) as they will switch to berries in the late summer after brooding season has ended.

I have a pair of these that I share land with i Alaska. They are not skiddish, and will come close. They always seem to be watching. They like to watch what i'm doing and will follow me around when i walk through the woods.

Now I know what kind of birdhouse to get for the Chickadees!

I have one of these woodpeckers destroying my the wood around the windows on my house. Sounds like a hammer hitting the side of my house when it starts.

A crafty Carolina Wren built a nest in the clothes dryer in my garage. Silly me for leaving the dryer door open. There are 4 nestlings. I did a quick video but decided to give them privacy while they grew up in the safety of my garage. Momma and Poppa chitter at me when I go in there during the day. I just had a peek and look like all 4 are doing ok! Have names picked out: Low, Medium, High, and Fluff!

Had an amazing sight in my back yard today! So blessed that a male stopped. Could not believe the orange patch in the foliage!!!!

I had 2 show up left them alone and now I have 6 that show up and make nests on my deck. I leave food out for them. They eat bugs so that's enough for me to like them plus the songs.

I must compliment you on your photography skills and your channel in general you sure do nail some pretty spectacular captures 👊🏼 I live in South Florida and only recently after purchasing and hanging a feeder have I become captivated by Blue Jays and the magical world of birds in general but definitely Blue Jays first and foremost as I am totally amazed at how truly personable they seem to be. It's as if they're starting to recognize me making me feel like they're becoming my homies lol!! I hope to one day get them to trust me enough to where they feel comfortable taking whole peanuts in the shell from my hand the way I saw you do in one of your videos which was stunning. Now 60 years old I can't believe I took these magical creatures for granted all these years. Just interacting with them raises my spirits in ways I can't explain they're like mesmerizing 🤙🏼 Liked & subscribed ✅

So sad.... The first egg didn't get into the nest in time to develop under the heat of momma. She worked hard to get it in. Such amazing parents. It could have made it if the parents could have given it extra attention. But in the wild that isn't the case like with humans. Poor little guy. ☹️

4:15 I'm absolutely in love with the chic a Dee's! I have several that come to my feeders. I would love to see the red breasted chic a Dee's at my feeders! Does anyone know if they come to Michigan? Thanku for Lesley for always showing & teaching me new things about all the adorable birdies!

For the last four years I have had tree swallows nesting in my birdhouse in my garden. This year bluebirds ended up squabbling with the tree swallows and they won out on claiming the birdhouse. Is this typical?

I don't know if this is a good thing. I been feeding birds for 9 years now and the cardinal population has gotten out of hand. I started out with 3 males and 5 females every year it has grown. Now I have 103 males and 38 females. In the summer months only one couple wins the feeder the others are pushed out but in the fall and winter months they are more tolerant of each other.
